Course Structure

Teaching is provided in a supportive classroom environment. Each tuition day will include theoretical lectures, presentations and discussions, together with practical demonstrations, group activities and practice of techniques taught. The course handbooks will be supplemented by additional materials, according to the topics being covered. You can expect 20 full days (9am-5pm) in the classroom, training days will be grouped into 10 separate training weekends over a duration of 9-10 months.

In addition to ‘class’ time, students are also required to complete directed and self-directed study and assignments. Students are also advised to practice self-hypnosis daily and keep a reflective journal and coursework portfolio. Although personal study time varies from student to student, it can be a useful guide to allow between 8 to 10 hours each week. Total tuition and study hours (including self-hypnosis work) are expected to be in the region of 450 hours.

The UK Core Curriculum indicates that classroom (face-to-face) training must meet / exceed 120 hours and home-study must meet / exceed 330 hours, meaning 450 total learning hours as a minimum. Excluding breaks, our classroom training is 130 hours (160 hours including breaks).

FAQs

Yes. All students and graduates are able to access telephone and email support after qualification with us.

Additionally, all newly qualified practitioners are advised to engage in supervision (sometimes referred to as ‘clinical supervision’). Supervision is available face-to-face in London and via Skype / telephone.

Post-qualification supervision is not mandatory (by us), but useful if you feel you need a helping hand. It is also a mandatory requirement for some professional associations, which is why we provide it as an option. It’s 100% up to you if you choose to do it though.

Yes. All students are asked to obtain “student insurance” before the start of weekend two, once qualified you can upgrade to full hypnotherapist insurance (they’ll need to see your certificate). Existing therapists may be able to add hypnotherapy to their existing policy. Details of our recommended insurance companies will be provided upon booking.

The NGH are oldest hypnotherapy (and certifying) body in the world, with members across the UK, USA, and in more than 25 other countries. For more information about the NGH, visit their website; www.NGH.net

You get your first year’s NGH membership included when you qualify (we absorb that cost) – if you want to remain a member, that’s up to you… There is an annual fee – details are available here; www.NGH.net/Membership

Don’t worry, because although fairly comprehensive, the NGH exam isn’t too strenuous. If it happens that you end up requiring a re-sit, we’ll give you the first one absolutely free (additional re-sits, if required, will accrue a small admin fee).

Yes. This highly sought-after qualification not only meets the international training standards of the National Guild of Hypnotists, but it has also been further enhanced to meet the National Occupational Standards and also the UK Core Curriculum too.

The course material has been assessed and accredited at practitioner level by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (UK), the British Institute of Hypnotherapy & NLP and the Federation of Holistic Therapists:

GHSC Accredited Hypnotherapy Training Course London UK BIH Accredited Hypnotherapy Training Course London UK FHT Accredited Hypnotherapy Training Course London UK

That’s not surprising. A lot of so-called “hypnotherapy trainers” are out to make a quick profit and do not care about the quality of training provided. They probably won’t even care if you finish their “course” and still can’t do hypnotherapy, because all they care about is lining their own pockets. As with most things, you get what you pay for…

If you just want a piece of paper that says “Hypnotherapist” you can print one out yourself for 50p. However, if you are looking for one of the top hypnotherapy training courses available in the UK, a real practical learning experience, an internationally recognised and respected qualification and continued professional support from trainers who do care about your success, then you’re in the right place!
